Easily check moisture like using electric tester

In order to measure the quantity of water contained in a material, there used to be dry weight method which use the heat of infrared ray or near-infrared ray method which use the wavelength. Dry weight method take long time to measure and near-infrared ray method have been expensive.

There are some moisture meters of electric resistance can display relative eletrical conductivity and moisture value. However, user could not change relative value corresponding to density or shape of object measured. SK-940A challenge that concept of traditional moisture meter and made it possible to do the easy and accurate measurement of moisture.

- Easy. just put the sensor on the object
- Quick. complete measuring just by pressing the switch
- Accurate. Other than standard range, there are 5 user's ranges available  (*Note 1).
Average value can also be displayed.
(*Note 1) user's range is a function which user can define the displayed value of min-max. Increasing or decreasing the displayed value from actual measuring range. You can freely set from low moisture to high moisture.

Notes on measuring the object
  • This moisture meter can't measure materials in a powdery state.
  • Depending on the pressure which you put the sensor on the object, measured values may vary. Therefore keep apply the same pressure, when you put the sensor on the object.
  • Temperature correction is done in the main body.

If the temperature is within the measuring range, conversion of measured temperature is not necessary. However if the temperature of measured object is quite differ from the one of moisture meter, SK-940A, there will be error in the measurement. Therefore before the measurement of moisture, please keep temperature of measured object and SK-940A as close as possible.


Note

SK-940A is designed to measure the eletrical resistance between two electrodes and display as relative moisture value. Displayed moisture content is not the absolute value. This moisture meter only display moisture content by using relative electrical resistance value. If the measured object contain electrically-conductive material (such as salts, metal, etc), measured value would differ from actual moisture content. However even If electrically-conductive material is contained in the measured object, if the amount of electrically-conductive material in the measured object is small (small enough so that it does'nt affect much to moisture value) and evenly distributed, it is possible for this moisture meter to measure the moisture value which is used for such as comparative analysis.
